空气滤芯是一种过滤器，又叫空气滤筒、空气滤清器、风格等。主要用于工程机车、汽车、农用机车、实验室、无菌操作室及各种精密操作室中的空气过滤。
发动机在工作过程中要吸进大量的空气，如果空气不经过滤清，空气中悬浮的尘埃被吸入气缸中，就会加速活塞组及气缸的磨损。较大的颗粒进入活塞与气缸之间，会造成严重的“拉缸”现象，这在干燥多沙的工作环境中尤为严重。空气滤清器装在化油器或进气管的前方，起到滤除空气中灰尘、砂粒的作用，保证气缸中进入足量、清洁的空气。
